Easy Fresh Homemade Lasagna Recipes
Lasagna is one of the most iconic dishes in Italian cuisine, and for good reason. It's hearty, tasty, and there are so many different types of lasagna to choose from. Some people prefer a traditional lasagna or lasagna al forno, while others prefer a lasagna made with grilled vegetables and ricotta cheese. In this blog post, we will take a look at a simple recipe for fresh homemade lasagna.
Recipe:
Ingredients:
- 1 pound ground beef or Italian sausage
- 1 onion, diced
- 3 cloves of garlic, minced
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 cup water
- 15 oz ricotta cheese
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 pound lasagna noodles
- 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef or sausage until fully cooked. Drain the fat.
- Add the onion and garlic to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the marinara sauce and water, and bring to a simmer.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the ricotta cheese, egg, basil, parsley, salt, and pepper.
- Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and rinse with cold water.
- Spread a thin layer of the meat sauce over the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- Place a single layer of cooked lasagna noodles over the sauce.
- Spread half of the ricotta cheese mixture over the noodles.
- Sprinkle 1 cup of mozzarella cheese over the ricotta.
- Repeat the layering process with another layer of noodles, the remaining meat sauce, the remaining ricotta mixture, and another cup of mozzarella cheese.
- Place the final layer of noodles on top, and spread the remaining meat sauce over the noodles.
- Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese and the Parmesan cheese over the top.
- Cover the dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let the lasagna cool for 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving.
